New Creations

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. -1 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)

If you are a Christian, you shouldn’t look the same way you did before you were saved. The things you say and the way you act should all show your transformation from a sinful human being to a child of God. Now, I don’t mean to say that immediately after you pray the prayer that you will immediately be a “better person.” Becoming like Christ is a process that takes time and is never truly complete until we join Christ in heaven. However, once you are saved you should want and desire change. You shouldn’t walk out of the door of the church and immediately revert back to your old ways.

So you put this shirt in the washing macine and you pour in the detergent and softener or whatever you use to clean your laundry, and you start the machine. Now, when that shirt comes out of the washung machine, you would expect it to be clean, right? If it wasn’t, there’s something wrong with the washing machine. If we don’t start changing after we are saved, then there’s something wrong with us. And it probably means that we aren’t really saved.
