Hey all! Our Daily Bread has one purpose, to point yall to the Living God and to Christ Jesus our Lord! We hope and pray that every post we post does exactly that! If a particular post is especially a blessing to you, let us know! Also, don’t be afraid to ask any questions you have. We’re all in this together, none of the three of us claims to have all the answers, we’re just sharing our observations and we’d love to hear yours!
The name, Our Daily Bread, comes from the Lord’s prayer, and specifically Matthew 6:11, Give us this day our daily bread, (ESV). We believe that our daily bread refers as much to daily readings of the scriptures as it does to physical sustenance. To that end, Our Daily Bread was founded on the fact that we have found many teens, including ourselves, pushing daily devotions aside when life gets busy. This blog was founded as a tool for teens to use to get in the habit of a daily quiet time. Of course, nothing can replace reading and deciphering the word for yourself, so think of the blog as merely a jumping off place.
Link Policy: The Links found on this website are all ones to blogs that one of us has been reading for a while, or resources that we have found helpful like the online Bibles. Our policy for posting links among these is twofold, 1) one of the three of us has to read the blog consistently for a minimum of three months. This is to ensure that we agree with the majority of what is being said. 2) We have to know the blogger. Most of the links up there are either blogs written by personal acquaintances of our bloggers or blogs suggested by trusted and well-grounded friends. However, still most were read for several months before being put up. We would also like to establish a policy for comments containing links. We will inform you that all of these come through as spam. That is not our doing and we will post them, AFTER one of us has read the blog/website, and ensured that it is ok. We will not post links from adults unless we personally know them. Period. We will not post your comment if your blog/website is inappropriate or we find major disagreements in its contents. We also will not post any comments advertising a personal, this-is-what-I-did-today, blog. Finally we will cease posting your comments if it appears you are only commenting to promote your own blog. The reason for all this is because we wish to keep the comments free and open for discussion.
Further Comment Policy: We ask that all readers keep their comments clean of foul language and respectful. Please respect the fact that some readers would rather not be exposed to language, so think before you post. Also, keep the comments relevant to the post or ongoing discussion. Be advised that any disrespectful comments will be deleted. Also, we may find it necessary to edit comments that have foul language in them. Thank you!
